Amalfi coast

A slight bend in the road marks a more dramatic change in scenery as we journey by car from the hustle and bustle of modern Naples to the relaxing serenity of one of Italy’s best-known natural attractions – the Amalfi Coast. Boasting a typically Mediterranean climate and relatively easy access from neighboring cities like Rome and Naples, the Amalfi Coast promises and delivers on everything from the finest dining to villa’s made famous in Hollywood films and a way of life that seems effortlessly chic. But escaping swelling crowds during Italy’s month-long August break can take the relaxing element out of an otherwise quite holiday. So when is the best time to visit if you want to unwind and enjoy the serenity?

If you are planning on seeing more than one destination and going on a tour of the region, optimum times to visit are May-June and September-October. And while winter may sound appealing to anyone travelling on a budget or wanting to avoid crowds, the fact so many hotels close during this period means organizing a vacation is difficult.

Travelling in spring means you can still enjoy a leisurely outdoor breakfast in Positano or Ravello before visiting a tucked away beach for a swim and then staying out late into the night in Sorrento. You would also have time for day trips to nearby attractions like Mount Vesuvius and Pompeii.

If the weather does make a turn for the worst, you can always turn your luck around and keep your bank balance happy with lunch in neighboring Naples. What better way to recharge your batteries than a true Neapolitan pizza before heading out on a walking tour of Spaccanapoli – Naples lively heart in a very busy town? Just make sure to have a guide with you.

We have imagine several itineraries bringing together highlights of Amalfi Coast and knowledge of the region’s food and wine. All our tours are private and run rain or shine. Each of the itineraries include:

  • Your personal guide, Enzo, fluent in English
  • Wine tastings
