"Welcome to wine paradise" This is the expression that I say when I arrive in Montalcino!

This town is located on a hill 500 meters above sea level and it is surrounded by manicured vineyards and olive trees. From the top of the 700 years old fortress you can admire the churches, the forests the little medieval villages that resembles the ones of a fairytale. But what makes Montalcino a luxury wine destination is its red wines called “Brunello”,( the dark brown one). This reputation has been possible thanks to the hard work of the people that have lived here for generations. They have created a magical place in respecting the surrounding nature without savaging the land with mass productions crops.

What makes the wine superb is the soil, the microclimate and the sea breeze from the Mediterranean sea.

We are immersed in a unique place famous not only for the wines but also for the honey, Salami, and cheese.

It is certainly a destination to put on your itinerary while visiting Tuscany.

In Montalcino we will visit two wineries and learn the secrets of this fine wines by walking through the vineyards to appreciate the hard work and the care that is taken to grow this grape variety. We will explore the cellars, the ageing rooms and learn about the different stages of wine making with a passionate and personal wine expert.

During the day we will have the chance to visit the mystical Sant’ Antimo Abbey where Gregorian chants are still held at certain time. Lunch will be served in a beautiful setting “al fresco” weather permitting where we will sample the local cuisine and wines. This is truly a treat to the palate and an experience you will not forget.

We have imagine several itineraries bringing together highlights of Montalcino and knowledge of the region’s food and wine. All our tours are private and run rain or shine. Each of the itineraries include:

  • Your personal guide, fluent in English
  • Wine tasting
  • Entry fees to historic sites and museums
  • Three course lunch and wine
  • Pick up and drop off between hotel and destination
  • Transport in spacious, air conditioned vehicle
